YJC co-chairs Anna-Claire Salama-Caro and Paul FoxAnna and Paul oversee all Young Jewish Care's activities and are ambassadors for the charity. They introduce new people to social and fundraising events and show first hand the work we do in the community.
Anna says: "My first foray into Young Jewish Care (YJC) was upon arriving back in London age 21, having left all my Jewish friends at University.
I didn’t necessarily think about being involved in a charity, but having been convinced by my family to give it a go I decided I had nothing to lose. So I went to what was going to be the first of many YJC events, a Traffic Light party (singles night) at the Paparazzi bar in Hanover Street.
Having set off feeling rather cynical, I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself in a relaxed and contemporary environment amongst a warm, fun and friendly group of people, in short my kind of crowd. Since then I really have not looked back and not only regularly attend the events, but I am now very involved in running them.
YJC events are a fantastic way to meet new and likeminded people. In fact it's down to YJC that I met two of my closest girlfriends.
The thing I have always loved about YJC is the incredibly wide range of events on offer, from discount shopping evenings, golfing tournaments and film premiers to cocktail parties in swanky venues and singles nights.
In short, whatever mood you are in, or whatever life stage you are at, there will always be something and someone just for you at YJC."
