Jewish Care could not do all that it does without volunteers. We always need more help and have many ways for you to get involved.

Whether you are in full-time education, working full or part-time, taking a career break or reaching retirement, you can make a difference to other people’s lives - from just an hour a week.

Volunteering is fun and stimulating and can help you learn new skills and make friends.

Our volunteers do a wide range of things including:

  • running groups and activities eg. discussion, art, creative writing in day centres and residential homes
  • hairdressing and manicures for residents and in day centres
  • visiting people in their homes and telephone befriending
  • mentoring staff
  • admin support in our offices
  • driving clients and delivering meals on wheels

We support older people, adults with physical disabilities and adults with mental health problems.

Training is available so volunteers can carry out their roles to the highest professional standards. There are tremendous opportunities to develop skills, build confidence and take on new and increasingly responsible tasks.
