Lively Annie Fox, a resident of Jewish Care’s Kay Court, was singing and dancing at her 100th birthday party on Monday 16th April, held at the care home in Finchley Road, NW3, where she has lived for the past nine years.
Mrs Fox, who was born in the East End of London, worked as a dressmaker from the age of 14 and was “an amazing seamstress with golden hands,” according to family members.
Party guests included her son Gerry, daughter Shirley Sherman and her niece Sheila, who joined in the celebrations together with residents, staff and volunteers. Paying tribute to the home, Mrs Sherman said: “Mum is so happy and the staff are really good.”
Speaking of his mother, Mr Fox added: “She has so much will power – she has always been a strong lady, that’s what has got her to this age.”
