Clayhall Safer Neighbourhoods team visited Jewish Care’s Sinclair House in Redbridge during the final week of Summerworld play scheme. Police officers Mark Hill and Charles Senghor spoke to the youngsters about safety issues such as not taking sweets from strangers or walking down the street holding a mobile phone.
Participants had a chance to try on police hats, helmets and shields. When asked “Who wants to give their fingerprints?” there was a resounding yes and the exercise was carried out with the help of PCSOs Russ Sparrey and Sharon Fontanelle. Some of the children tried out handcuffs and they all went home with information packs including leaflets and stickers.
