of Jewish Care’s Hyman Fine House care home in Brighton enjoyed a virtual world tour devised by care manager Sue Jones and activities organiser Mark Pady. The week-long programme kicked off with a day of Japanese culture in which residents enjoyed a sushi-making demonstration and a 'chopstick challenge' game.
They also ‘visited’ France, America, Italy and India with activities such as boules and a pavement artist, an American-style barbecue and jazz band, a pizza-making session and a Bollywood dancing display.
Mrs Jones said the idea was to give residents a flavour of different cultures and their countries – “We can’t take them abroad but we can bring the world to them,” she declared.
Registered manager Wilna Smith said the week was "great fun. Everyone enjoyed it tremendously.”
