Jewish Care has been shortlisted for the Fundraising Charity of the Year 2008 award by Professional Fundraising magazine. The charity is among six finalists including Friends of the Earth and Islamic Aid – the results will be announced at an award ceremony in London on Wednesday 21st May.
The judges cited “an efficiency drive and strategy of major donor ‘friend-raising’” which led to the nomination.
Richard Franklin, the charity’s director of fundraising, said: “the nomination is a significant achievement and national acknowledgement of the progress Jewish Care’s fundraisers have made in recent years working with the community for our community.”
This is Jewish Care’s second recent nomination for a national award – the charity’s Rosh Hashanah appeal for dementia care, produced by the agency Cascaid, has been nominated for a Best Charity Appeal award by Precision Marketing magazine. The results will be announced on Tuesday 29th April.
Jewish Care’s chief executive Simon Morris said the nominations were “good news” and congratulated everyone involved.
