A colourful rug depicting a clown is nearing completion in the art room at Jewish Care’s Brenner Community Centre at Raine House in Stamford Hill. Inspired by Purim, the work is being carried out by David Cohen, who attends the Kadimah Centre for people with mental health needs, within the same building.
David Cohen said: “I got the idea when I saw another member making a rug and I asked David Dunbar [the arts and crafts coordinator] to draw me the outline. This is the first time I have done rug craft and I am very pleased with it. I also like doing mosaic and pottery.”
