The Holocaust Survivors Centre (HSC) is a Jewish social centre for survivors who were in Europe during the Second World War or came to the UK as refugees after November 1938 and on the Kindertransporte.

members exhibit art at the HSC

It offers a friendly, safe place where elderly survivors can meet and socialise, and where they can benefit from a full therapeutic programme.

The centre offers a wide range of social activities for members, six days a week, Sunday-Friday. Testimonies are also recorded and survivors visit schools, colleges and universities to talk about their experiences.

It is the only centre designed specifically for Holocaust survivors in the UK.

Activities include:

  • t’ai Chi and keep fit
  • painting, art and creative writing
  • bridge
  • music appreciation
  • Yiddish, Hebrew learning and discussion groups.

A group of members is elected onto an advisory committee, which works with the centre director to develop the service.

A freshly cooked and kosher lunch is served every day.

If you would like more information, please contact the HSC on 020 8202 9844.
