The home provides a warm, caring and stimulating environment for adults aged 18-65, underpinned by strong Jewish values and traditions. A high standard of care is provided by a team of 24 professional staff who are supported by a large complement of volunteers.
Rela Goldhill Lodge prides itself on creating a homely, friendly, relaxed and non-threatening environment, where we acknowledge individual needs and preferences. Our aim is for residents to enjoy a full and active lifestyle with choice, dignity and respect.
Care
Staff are on duty 24 hours a day, so help support is always available at all times. Residents are able to summon support by using the alarm call system which is installed in every bedroom and all the communal areas. During the day, there are at least six members of staff on duty, and there are three ‘waking night’ staff members at night.
We function as a dynamic multi-disciplinary team in assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care needs required by individual residents. When planning care we ensure that skills and independence are maintained and enhanced for as long as possible. Each resident has two key workers, who work together, to ensure that individual care needs are being met.
We also have an Outreach and Day Care service, that helps young adults with physical disabilities and sensory impairments with personal care, and helps maintain independent living.
Rela Goldhill is a bright modern building, furnished to a high standard with modern equipment fitted throughout. It is fully accessible for all residents. Facilities include:
Residents are encouraged and supported to make their personal space their own, including any fittings, adaptations or equipment, subject to fire and safety requirements.
We have an ‘open visiting’ policy and encourage relatives and friends to visit as often as they like, and to participate in the planning, implementing and quality monitoring of the home and the care we provide.
Shabbat and Festivals
At Rela Goldhill Lodge we allow residents to celebrate the Jewish faith, its culture and traditions at religious services appropriate to their needs. A Jewish atmosphere is actively encouraged, whilst Shabbat and festivals are always observed in the traditional way.
Catering
The standard of Kashrut is strictly observed and is overseen by Jewish Care’s Shomer.
In addition, Rela Goldhill also provides an Outreach and a Day Care service that assists young and physically disabled people to maintain independent living in the comfort of their own home.
